60th Birthday
|
The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland
was formed in 1948 by a group of concerned parents to provide services
that were not otherwise available. Time has passed quickly and in
2008, we celebrate our 60th Anniversary.
The organisation has been through many changes during this time
however, one thing hasn't changed: we continue to provide service to an
increasing number of children and adults.
One child is born with cerebral palsy every 18 hours in
Australia.

|
The League provides particular emphasis
to early intervention, providing targeted services at an early age
which are fundamental in realising or maximising future life
opportunities. Research is also a current focus for the
organisation.
An estimated two to three
people out of every 1000 will have cerebral palsy.
