FAQs

How can I get assistance with the prescription of wheelchairs, showerchairs or new seating?

ETS offers a variety of levels of support for equipment prescription. These are detailed in our Seating Assessment Page.

What is the process for obtaining ETS wheelchairs?

ETS has developed a flowchart to show the typical process for obtaining ETS wheelchairs. A copy may be obtained from ETS on request or you can view this resource in our Information and Education section. As provision of equipment is a very individualised process, this flowchart may not cover every single situation. However, we believe it covers 99% of cases. Just the size of the flowchart is an indication of the complexity of the process!

Can I borrow equipment from ETS?

ETS loans equipment for trial where possible and you can find out about our terms and condition on our Equipment Trials.

How do I purchase equipment from ETS?

To purchase equipment - or have existing equipment repaired or modified - ETS requires a written Purchase Order or instruction. For purchases on behalf of clients by community organisations, a promissory letter from the organisation on their official letterhead is sufficient. For clients to purchase on their own behalf, a deposit of one third of the amount is required to initiate the purchase if the value of the equipment is over $250 or if the item is not normally held in stock at ETS Marketing. Any outstanding amount must be paid before any item can be released or delivered to the client.

How can I get a complete ETS price List?

Due to the highly customised nature of our equipment, ETS does not supply complete price lists. To generate an accurate quote, we will require a completed specification form. However, we are happy to provide general pricing information on request.

How can I organise to have repairs made to my equipment that is owned by the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS)?

A repair order from the responsible Community Health Centre (CHC) must be provided to ETS prior to repair work commencing on any MASS wheelchair. A faxed copy is sufficient, so just ask your CHC staff to fax a copy to us. When we receive your written order, we will make an appointment time for the equipment to be brought in for inspection and repair. Unfortunately, verbal requests at the time of delivery of the equipment to ETS cannot be acted on.

For more extensive repairs, ETS may not be able to generate an accurate quote for repair until after the wheelchair is inspected. In these cases, repairs may not be able to be commenced immediately or completed as quikly as first anticipated. In such cases, ETS will negotiate a plan for repair to ensure the least inconvenience.

How do I get my photo on the ETS website?

At ETS, we think that our happy customers are our best advertisement. We'd love to put your photo on our website!

Send your photo, featuring you using your ETS equipment, to us. Include your address, phone number, email address and a brief description of how your ETS equipment has helped you. We will contact you about how and when we can use your photo.
