Toowoomba Redevelopment Appeal

The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland (CPLQ) has provided services to Queenslanders for nearly 60 years. Their first meeting was held on 16 March 1948 and from humble beginnings, CPLQ has grown to now offer our clients a diverse range services.

CPLQ has continued to meet the growing needs of our clients, but to keep pace with the present range of services without an urgent injection of funds from the community, we are going to be hard pressed to continue to expand and to meet the ongoing pressures that CPLQ is experiencing in Toowoomba.

URGENT INJECTION OF FUNDS FROM THE COMMUNITY NEEDED!

In 1959 the organisation purchased property in Scott Street, Toowoomba with the aim of building a centre which would service clients in Toowoomba and the South West region of Queensland. Significantly, the Scott Street building which CPLQ has been working out of has now reached a crisis point.

The facility is in serious need of upgrading! Especially to accommodate the Adult Day Services which is currently off-site in the Hooper Centre and needs to be resituated into the Scott Street building.

STAGE ONE $415,000 – URGENT APPEAL FOR FUNDS!

Through the services of a local architectural firm who has projected the cost of the site redevelopment to be $1.2 Million a staged plan of action has been costed. To manage this target, CPLQ has broken a capital appeal into two stages; Stage One is $415,000 and Stage Two is $785,000.

With CPLQ spending a significant proportion of available funds on fundamental services for its increasing number of clients, the organisation is asking for our help.
