Art for Art's Sake 2006
To continue the theme of “recycled art” in 2006, artists painted on sash windows salvaged from old Queensland homes. Not only did these windows have historical value, but they also provided an interesting and thought-provoking canvas for Art for Art’s Sake artists.
The theme in 2006 - “Windows of Opportunity” - refered to the way the money raised from the event provided many opportunities for the thousands of adults and children with cerebral palsy the League supports throughout the state.
The exhibition was held at the Brisbane Powerhouse from Tuesday 8 to Monday 14 August 2006 in the Visy Theatre Lobby. The pieces were then auctioned at a cocktail function on 14 August in the Spark Bar. All pieces of art were sold under the hammer and raised more than $28,000 for the League!
