Art For Art's Sake
An inspiring Queensland art
exhibition and charity auction has raised approximately $45,000 to help
improve the lives of Queenslanders with a physical disability.
The Art for Art's Sake: New Beginnings exhibition and auction included donated artworks from more than 30 well known Queensland artists.
More than 150 of Queensland’s “who’s who” gathered at Brisbane’s Waterfront Place on Wednesday, 28 May for the SOLD OUT auction, with all proceeds going to the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland.
This year’s exhibition raised a record $45,000 according to the CEO of the League, Ms Angela Tillmanns.
"We’re thrilled by the support and generosity at this year’s event,” Ms Tillmanns said.
“Fundraisers like Art for Art’s Sake mean the League can continue to provide a new beginning for people with a disability through vital equipment, facilities and services.
“A huge thank you must go out to all guests who attended the auction and dug deep, as well as the very generous artists who dedicated significant time, effort and resources into producing their amazing artworks,” she said.
Anthony DJ Rigby Insurance and Investment Services and the AMP Foundation sponsored the event for the third year running, contributing a generous $15,000 which ensured the success of the event.
The event raised significant funds to provide services and support for more than 3000 Queenslanders with cerebral palsy and related disabilities, including vital therapy and equipment that facilitates mobility and communication.
