Mylestones Children’s Foundation was established by CPL to provide ongoing funding for children and young adults with physical disability. Our goal is to ensure they get the best possible start in life to help them maximise their social, physical and economic independence.
How you can make a difference
Funds raised through Mylestones Children’s Foundation will support specific programs, services, equipment and research as well as assisting children and young adults with physical disability to achieve their own unique milestones
Alternatively, your donation or commitment through a bequest can be held in perpetuity to ensure a lasting legacy for future generations of young people with physical disability.
All donations to the fund are fully tax-deductible.
Our proud history
CPL was started in 1948 in Brisbane by a group of concerned parents who felt they were not receiving the services they required to assist their children with cerebral palsy to grow, learn and live their lives to the fullest.
These families laid solid foundations for an organisation which now celebrates more than 60 years in existence, provides services to more than 3,100 clients daily and has an annual turnover of $65 million.
The Mylestones Children’s Foundation provides us with the ability to extend our delivery of vital support and services to people with physical disabilities as they strive to live independent lives as active members in their community of choice.
Security and growth
Mylestones Children’s Foundation is overseen by the CPL Board and an appointed Investment Manager, to manage growth and direct corporate governance.
The Foundation has a long-term investment view and seeks to ensure the real value of the underlying capital is sustained, whilst growing the resultant income stream.
To mitigate the risk of inflation, the Foundation is targeting a long-term return from income and capital* of at least 5% above inflation**. The trustees will ensure no more than 5% of income will be spent on administration costs, including investment services.
