Security of information

The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland (CPLQ) is interested in the security of your information. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, CPLQ has put in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected online. CPLQ uses encryption technology when collection or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.

CPLQ’s website is secured using a Thawte Digital Certificate. This ensures that confidential information you send via the World Wide Web will be encrypted. If any other internet user intercepts the communication they will only be able to see it in an encrypted form. Only the holders of the server certificate can decrypt the information, and view it in plain text form.

CPLQ uses SSL protocol, allowing us to take credit card orders, protect sensitive personal information, and ensure that computer hackers do not detect your details. CPLQ uses a 128 bit encryption certificate which makes eavesdropping on secure web traffic almost impossible.

Thawte SSL certificates are compatible with all recent browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Netscape Navigator 7.1, Mozilla, Safari, and Opera. Older browsers may need a quick adjustment before they connect cleanly.
