Borrower Registration

Conditions of loan

All prospective borrowers must register via the Borrower Registration form (above).

Registered CPL Library borrowers must:

  • Maintain the condition of borrowed items. The borrower will be held financially responsible for any loss or damage to the borrowed items during the period of the loan.
  • Return borrowed items by the due date. Late return of items disadvantages other borrowers.
  • Rewind videos before returning them.
  • Make an appointment prior to accessing the CPL Library, if they are not a CPL staff member.
  • Notify CPL Library staff of the intention to borrow before removing any items from the premises. In the absence of CPL Library staff, other CPL staff intending to borrow resources must follow the procedure located at the circulation desk.

Registered CPL Library borrowers must not:

  • Remove items from the CPL Library in the absence of the Library staff under any circumstances.
  • Copy all or part of and audio visual/print material without permission from the copyright owners, even if the copy is intended for private use. Copyright law in Australia is decided by the Copyright Act 1968 and decisions of court.
  • Charge for admission to any screening of audio visual material, in accordance with the Picture Theatres and Film Act.
  • Pass-on borrowed items to another individual without notifying Library staff.
