DSQ Blitz

Disability Services Queensland’s corporate rock band has taken out the top gong as the winning band at Queensland's charity rock event of the year on the weekend.

Aptly named ‘D Sharp Quavers’, the band battled it out against nine other corporate rock bands at the Conrad Treasury Boardroom Blitz at Brisbane's Entertainment Centre on the weekend.

A major annual fundraiser for the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland, the event attracted a crowd of over 1,200 people and raised much needed funds for vital disability services.

Keeping in theme of the night, corporate bands, celebrity guests and the crowd were decked out in their best “At the Movies” outfits.

“D Sharp Quavers put on a spectacular show and was well deserved of winning the charity rock event,” said the League's Events Coordinator, Nicola Payne.

“The band’s performance was first class and it was hard to believe the band members are not actually professional musos.

"They had the crowd up dancing from the word go and made sure it was a cracker of a night for all,” she said.

Boardroom Blitz was hosted by Paul Mercurio and included celebrity performers and guests such as Small Mercies, Wolf Creek’s John Jarratt, Richard “Champs” Champion and Ranger Stacey.
