Search for Miss Queensland

The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland is calling on long lost “Miss Australia” winners to step forward to help celebrate the charity’s 60th anniversary.

Celebrating its 60th birthday this month, the Cerebral Palsy League is on the hunt for former Miss Australia winners, particularly those living in Queensland, to help join in the anniversary activities.

The Miss Australia Quest began in 1954 to celebrate the success of young Australian women and went on to become one of the most successful fundraising events in Australian history.

The Quest was conducted throughout the country to raise funds for the care and welfare of children and adults with cerebral palsy.

To date, the Miss Australia Quest has raised close to $90 million for the cause Australia wide.

CEO of the Cerebral Palsy League, Ms Angela Tillmanns, says she is hopeful to locate these significant contributors in time for the charity’s birthday celebrations.

“Miss Australia is a key part of the Cerebral Palsy League’s history and an imperative part of the success we have enjoyed to date,” said Ms Tillmanns.

“Many of our former Miss Australia’s have married, changed their name and address and it’s hard for us to keep in touch to continue our vote of thanks.

“The Quest had a spirit of friendship, camaraderie, generosity and compassion and we’d love to have those contributors present at our 60th celebrations this year,” she said.

Cerebral Palsy League will kick off 60th celebrations with a birthday party in late June to launch a state wide appeal focusing on the growing needs of people with a disability in regional centers throughout Queensland.

If you are – or are in regular contact with – a former Miss Queensland or Miss Australia, please contact the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland on 1800 819 086 or complete the form via the link below.
