Third year running

A renowned West End artist will put her latest artwork under the microscope to benefit the Cerebral Palsy League.

West End’s Angela Davies has offered to put her creative talents to a good cause and create an artwork for the Art for Art's Sake: New Beginnings exhibition and charity auction.

For the third year Angela will join over 30 well known artists to donate artwork to the exhibition.

Scheduled 19-28 May at Waterfront Place in Brisbane, Art for Art’s Sake is an annual exhibition and charity auction to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland.

With exhibitions spanning from Brisbane to Montreal to New York, Angela takes a uniquely creative view of the world drawing inspiration from cells – the building blocks of life - with her latest artwork “New Life”.

CEO of the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland, Angela Tillmanns, said she expects the art auction to raise more than $40,000 this year.

"The Art for Art's Sake concept continues to do well and has captured the imaginations of many well known Queensland artists,” said Ms Tillmanns.

“Through fundraisers such as this the League can provide a new beginning for people with a disability through vital equipment, facilities and services.

“All funds raised will go towards improving the lives of Queenslanders with cerebral palsy, including residents and families in the Brisbane area,” she said.

Tickets are on sale now to the Art for Art’s Sake public auction at 6:30pm Wednesday 28 May at Brisbane’s Waterfront Place.

The art auction is presented by Anthony DJ Rigby Insurance and Investment Services and AMP Foundation, which will contribute 50 cents for every dollar raised up to $20,000.
