Trash is treasure
Corporate “trash” could raise invaluable dollars for thousands of Queenslanders with special needs.
This includes old or unused office equipment, mobile phones, computers, old vehicles and much more.
The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland (CPLQ) has embraced environmentally friendly fundraising campaigns to support Queenslander’s with a disability.
This includes fundraisers that transform “trash” to treasure, including a mobile phone recycling campaign, a used vehicle donation program and an eBay auction for recycled goods.
As part of International Recycling Week, scheduled 12-18 November, CPLQ is calling on Queensland businesses to think twice before throwing out old equipment.
“We’re trying to reverse today’s trend of a ‘throw away society’ and convert old or unused goods into fundraising dollars,” said CPLQ’s Business Development Manager, Mr Brett Lucas.
“These dollars are then used to provide valuable services and support for thousands of Queenslanders with a disability such as cerebral palsy,” he said.
CPLQe has recycled over 3000 mobile phones and collected 70-plus cars, boats and trailers to date through its recycling programs.
