We provide a broad range of support at work for adults with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities through
our supported employment service and Mylestones Employment, including:
- On the job support to maximise productivity and self-worth
- Adult therapy and social work
- Assistance with personal care
- Assistance with government departments such as Centrelink
- Development of career plans
- Assistance with establishing the most viable means of transport
- Linkages to other CPL and community services
Supported Employment Service
Our supported employment service delivers individualised and ongoing support, and:
- Respects individual decision-making and choice
- Complements other essential supports in an individual’s life
- Provides challenging work in a valued role
- Reflects (within funding constraints) working conditions in the broader community
- Provides support to maximise an individual’s earning capacity
For a person to be eligible for one of our supported employment services they will need to:
- Be identified as a person with cerebral palsy or related disability
- Have work goals that can be met by the service
- Trial the service through initial work experience to ensure a good job match
Mylestones Employment
Mylestones Employment provides assistance to people with disabilities by assessing an their abilities, skills and employment preferences, and then uses this information to undertake an extensive job search. Mylestones Employment then works to support both the employee and the employer in the workplace following placement. Mylestones Employment is available to any person with a disability seeking employment.
