Our support at home programs are designed to provide in-home support for children with disabilities and their families.
We understand that each family needs different types of support at different times. One of our in-home coordinators will work with your family to identify your specific needs. The different kinds of support we are able to provide includes:
- Supporting carers to meet the needs of the child with disability
- Supporting the household through the busiest times of the day, for example early mornings or meal times
- Assisting the child to access community activities, for example supporting the child at a local sporting or social club
- Assistance with school work or homework Support for the family in their home environment
- Personal care support
Family and Personal Care Assistants
A family assistant is someone who is employed to provide the specific assistance your family needs for particular tasks or at particular times in your own home. A personal care assistant assists with personal care and routine family activities at home or in the community.
The type and amount of support available to families is dependent on urgency and available resources in the region. The service may be available to families for short periods when they require extra assistance, for example during family illness.
